Meet Our U11s Coach: Dan Sherlock

Welcome to the Under 11s section of the Kilsyth Junior Football Club! We are excited to introduce our returning U11s coach, Dan Sherlock—a dedicated club leader, educator, and passionate football advocate.

A Strong History at Kilsyth

Dan’s involvement with Kilsyth runs deep across all areas of the club. Before taking on a head coaching role three seasons ago, he helped run the club’s Auskick program. In addition to coaching on match day, Dan has served on the Junior Football Committee since 2023.

With a professional background in teaching, coaching comes naturally to Dan, and he thrives on seeing the club continue to grow and succeed.

Coaching Philosophy & Team Values

When describing his coaching style in three words, Dan focuses on creating an empowering environment: Encouraging, Supportive, and Team-Focussed.

For Dan, footy is all about fun first and foremost. The core values he builds his team around include:

• Teamwork: Working together and supporting one another on and off the field.

• Encouragement: Keeping energy high and lifting teammates up.

• Continuous Improvement: Focusing on personal and team growth each week.

The most rewarding part of coaching for Dan is seeing the genuine enjoyment, lasting friendships, and smiles on his players’ faces.

Looking Ahead to the Season

After spending last year getting used to full tackling, Dan is thrilled to lead the team into their next big milestone: taking a crack at full ladder competition and playing for official premiership points!
